EQ-PSPC is a split-able pouch cell with applied pressure up to 10 MPa, which is designed for researching the effect of pressure on solid/liquid state battery performance. It can also be used to make solid-state pouch cells via a compressing jig. It can be customized into various sizes upon request.
MTI has been granted the patent 2016205320316 for the Pressure Controlled Split Pouch Cells - EQ-PSPC since June 2016.
SPECIFICATIONS
Structure & Material
Pushing plates (top and bottom) are made of stainless steel. (Gold plating is available upon request at extra cost)
The pouch cell frame is made of Nylon.
One stainless steel spring plate is included for single layer pouch cell assembling
Optional mechanical jig fixture and spacer are available from Product Options for sealing the O-rings and applying pressure to the battery assembly
Instruction How to Use
Simply put electrode, separator, and electrolyte materials into the split cell with no screws required.
Place the split cell into a mechanical jig fixture to apply pressure without crimping and seal the O-rings. Please select from the Product Options (Pic.1)
Connect current leads to a battery analyzer for testing the assembled pouch cell
You may choose a hydraulic press (Pic. 2) or a digital press (Pic. 3 ) to apply pressure by clicking pics below
